Notes from the December 2009 Meeting
There were 19 members and 5 visitors present.
Items for Discussion
Elections were held in November and all officers will remain the same for 2010.
145.310 was replaced in November by Chuck (WA6SAA) and is performing better than before.
After the December meeting a new repeater was installed on Blue Ridge 441.975+ 100 by Chuck (WA6SAA) and Jim (WA7HRG) and assisted by Ed (K6LSB). Others present at the site were Howard (KJ6KYC) Ed’s assistant, and Greg (W6NRA) photographer.
Also installed was a new controller to link the 145.310 to 441.975 providing more versatility. Remember if you wish to use a stand alone UHF repeater, you may use 443.050+ 100. This is a club affiliated repeater owned by club member Jerry (KE6YF).
All members were asked to try out both reapeters when traveling and take note of how they were performing in different areas and give a report at the Jan 2010 meeting. This info is important.
Other future ideas were discussed for the club repeaters and will be discussed in more detail in the New Year.
The PL on 146.655 is currently off. This will be fixed in the immediate future as required by NARCC
The clubs cash donations, food, and toys were given to needy families.
